Dream of a boy

Dream of a Boy

The boy sat quietly by the window, his eyes following the swaying trees and the distant clouds drifting lazily across the sky. He often spent his afternoons like this, gazing outside and letting his mind wander, imagining adventures in the world beyond the glass. The chirping of birds and the faint rustle of leaves filled the room, creating a gentle background to his daydreams.

His mother was busy with her job, often leaving early in the morning and returning late in the evening, while his father was engaged in his business, moving from one meeting to another. The boy understood they worked hard, but he sometimes wished they could sit with him, listen to his stories, and share the moments he spent watching the world outside. Yet, in their absence, the window became his companion, offering him a view of life beyond the walls of his home.

One afternoon, as sunlight spilled warmly through the glass, he noticed a small bird perched on the branch of a nearby tree. It seemed to be looking right at him, tilting its head curiously, as if inviting him to come outside and play. A gentle breeze carried the scent of blooming flowers into the room, making him feel as though the outside world was calling his name. In that moment, he promised himself that one day, he would step beyond the window, explore the hills and fields he had only imagined, and turn his quiet dreams into real adventures.

Days passed, and the boy’s fascination with the world beyond the glass only grew stronger. Each morning, he waited eagerly for the first rays of sunlight to light up the hills in the distance, painting them in gold. Sometimes, he would sketch the scenes he saw — the fluttering birds, the rippling lake, the children playing far away — as if capturing pieces of the outside world to keep with him. Though his parents’ lives were busy, he carried the hope that one day they would join him, stepping out together into the wide, open world he had come to know so well from his little window.
